Classic Meatballs in Crockpot

Here is a simple meal for all the busy people out there, classic meatballs in the crockpot. Plus, it includes the recipe I use to make homemade barbeque sauce. Which is great for all sorts of other recipes.
001Crockpot Meatballs

1 lb ground beef
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp ground black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cups barbeque sauce (recipe below)
½ cup grape jelly

1. Set up crockpot. Line the bottom with the olive oil.
2. Combine beef, garlic powder, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Mix well. Roll the meatballs to about the size of a golf ball.
3. Layer them in the crockpot.
4. In a separate bowl, mix together jelly and barbeque sauce. Pour on top of meatballs.
5. Set on high for 5 hours.

Homemade Barbeque Sauce

1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp cumin
1 tbsp maple syrup
6 oz of tomato paste
1/3 cup chicken broth
½ cup onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 tbsp lime juice
1-2 tsp chili powder

1. In a medium saucepan, heat coconut oil on medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté in oil until fragrant. (About two minutes)
2. Add tomato paste first, then the remaining ingredients and mix.
3. Raise heat and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 35 – 45 minutes.
4. If not using immediately, store in an airtight container. Allow to cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
