Technically, this a slow cooker recipe. However, not one that you set and forget all day. Everything can be tossed in about an hour prior to the meal and bam, some sautéed garlic herb mushrooms will be ready to pair with your main dish.
Mushrooms provide a lot of health benefits. They have vitamin D, potassium, vitamin C, and fiber. All very important for proper cell function and heart health. They also contain selenium, which is not found in most vegetables. Selenium plays a role in liver enzyme function and can assist in detoxifying the body.
My mother used to never eat mushrooms. Once I explained all the health benefits to her, she has learned to add them to her diet. This made me so happy. My mom has made many changes and incorporated things that she never ate while I was growing up. Her health has improved because of the changes she has made, which makes me overjoyed.
